When Paige chanced to see a package of puppies, she was travelling through the desert. They were starving and terribly thirsty, and the temperature outdoors was 110 degrees. She took them in without hesitation that day because she believed she was sent here for a reason.
They immediately proceeded to the doctor, where it was discovered that the puppies were very dehydrated but otherwise healthy. Although she had the option of leaving them in a shelter, she felt strongly motivated to make sure they received the treatment they needed. And she did it. Zelda and Link were adopted by a woman called Elizabeth, and Breck would live out the rest of her days with Paige.
