When the dog was removed from the wrong owners, it was difficult to even recognise it as a malamuteIn October 2018, a shelter in Mississippi received reports of several dogs in very poor condition. These dogs were confiscated from their dysfunctional owners and taken to the shelter.
Among them was a malamute named Odin, whose condition was so critical that at first they couldn’t even determine his breed.
Odin was immediately taken to the vet and then found a temporary home. This dog had spent all his time tied to a chain. He was suffering from a neglected skin infection that had led to the total loss of his coat. He also suffered from wounds, dental problems and serious internal illnesses.Sydney Shelkopf became Odin’s temporary owner. For the first few days after his arrival, the dog was frightened. The house was completely unknown to him and he didn’t know what to expect. He looked everywhere and his anxiety was obvious.
With time and special attention, Odin began to show affection.Sydney liked Odin so much that she decided to keep him.
Today, this dog is happy and has found a long-awaited home where he is loved and cared for.
