A tragedy in Ogden Canyon claimed the lives of a Utah father and his 16-year-old daughter when their van was hit by a flying bulldozer.
Richard Hendrickson, CEO of Lifetime Products, was in the car with his wife and three children when a tow truck lost control of the mini-excavator it was carrying and collided with the family’s vehicle.Hendrickson and his daughter Sally were killed instantly. The other passengers survived.
The tragic accident occurred on Saturday 6 July, when the family were travelling on a narrow two-lane road in Ogden Canyon, in eastern Weber County, Utah. When they attempted to turn at approximately 12:49 p.m., the tow truck carrying heavy equipment was traveling eastbound, according to the Department of Public Safety. As it negotiated a right turn, the bulldozer detached from the crane and plunged into Hendrickson’s GMC pickup, which was heading west and towing a boat.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox expressed his condolences to the family on X, writing: ‘Richard was an incredible friend and leader. We are heartbroken by his tragic passing, as is his daughter Sally.
