A video has emerged showing the victim dancing in the hours before the horrific event, and the family of the South Carolina man who died after a firework exploded in his head have said they are “traumatised” by their loss.
Before the horrific tragedy in Summerville, about 35 minutes north of Charleston, Allen Ray McGrew had been filmed smoking a cigarette and performing a graceful dance while dressed entirely in a red, white and blue Uncle Sam costume, complete with top hat and beard.
Allen Ray McGrew died at a block party in South Carolina on July 4, when a pyrotechnic device exploded in his head.

The video showed his favourite party, which he celebrated with friends and family, who watched and laughed.
“I remembered him hugging his son and me right before the incident and telling us, ‘You’re my rock, and you’re my heart,'” she said.
“His son is his heart, and I’m his rock.”
After dating since at least 2017, the couple only got married last year. Adorable photos of their April 2023 wedding have been posted on social media, showing them wearing identical “sir” and “ma’am” T-shirts.
