The average American is so concerned about saving money and doing the math that they can drive across town for a difference of 10 cents. Another thing is how much they spend on gas. I once asked this question to an American acquaintance and you should have seen her shocked eyes!
However, Americans value time more than money, which they consider their primary resource.
Why do we hardly ever see wallpaper in the homes of everyday Americans and Canadians? Because it’s expensive, impractical and time-consuming to install and repair. In the U.S., wallpaper has to be pasted by a certified professional who knows how to work with expensive materials, and wallpaper itself is very expensive. Hanging a square meter of wallpaper can cost between $20 and $40. If baseboards, battens and other details are included, the cost for a room can easily run around $2,500.
The cost of such a job is between $1.5 and $2 per square meter. Does it make a difference? A 300 m² house can be completely disassembled and painted in two days.
It is easier to repair: sand, putty, smooth and paint. Not a trace, even after a child’s work.
