When a man and a teenage girl boarded a flight from Seattle to San Francisco, Alaska Airline stewardess Shelia Frederick was suspicious.
The man was elegantly dressed, while the girl was not, and refused to make eye contact with anyone.
While doing her job on the plane, Shelia kept wondering about the girl, and eventually came up with an ingenious plan that took a lot of courage. Courage to save this young woman from a dangerous situation.
Shelia couldn’t ignore the girl and tried desperately to make eye contact while serving snacks on board the flight.
While her colleague held the man’s attention, Shelia did the toilet mime, then the writing mime. She waited for the girl to understand.
Fortunately, the girl excused herself to go to the bathroom. The man stayed with her outside the bathroom, but Shelia refused to leave, keeping an eye on the man.
Shelia alerted the pilot, who contacted ground control to have the authorities detain the man on landing.
