A woman named Lisa Lee, 25, told Metro a heartbreaking story.
One night, while sleeping next to her husband, she was awakened by what she thought was snoring. Her husband, Lewis Little, also 25, was not in the habit of snoring, so, to get him to stop, she gently nudged him.
“I thought he was snoring, so I pushed him out of bed to make him stop. But when I noticed the sheet was wet, I knew something was wrong. I turned on the light and looked at his bruised face because he couldn’t breathe. I called the ambulance, but it seemed like an eternity before they arrived,” Lisa says.
When the ambulance finally arrived, the doctors told the devastated woman that her husband had been dead for a few hours.
She didn’t want to believe it, because she knew she had heard him snoring. Then they explained that the snoring she thought she heard was the sound of air leaving his body and hitting his vocal cords.
Lisa knew that her husband had Brugada syndrome, a rare, usually inherited heart disease that affects the rhythm of the heart.
We are so sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace.
