The death of an 11-month-old baby who was thrown down a pipe and left to perish in an icy pool of mud and water has led to the indictment of a mother in New York.
Halo Branton was reported kidnapped, but her search ended abruptly on March 10, when police discovered the little girl and took her to the hospital, where she later died.

On March 10, 2024, an Amber Alert was sent out about Halo Branton, a little girl from Schenectady, New York, who went missing the night before after 9pm.
The mother “lost her child.”
She continued, “It’s probably the worst thing that ever happened to her (in her career). Most likely,” in reference to having to make the devastating revelation.
Nelson is in custody after pleading not guilty. He is expected to appear in court on Thursday, March 14.
The woman, originally from nearby Columbia County, had only been in Schenectady for a few months, according to reports, and had previously resided in an Albany County shelter.
