Pedro sent a photo of some firefighters who wanted to take a break and relax after spending many hours extinguishing a large fire in Pedróg Grande. “After working hard all day and all night, we decided to take a break and relax by the river for about fifteen minutes; at that moment, we noticed that the air was thick with smoke.” According to Pedro, firefighters took a brief 25-minute break to relax by a river after working tirelessly for 24 hours. The temperature reached a record level of approximately 116 degrees Fahrenheit on August 5th. In addition to the 13 aircraft that dropped water on the fire, several additional firefighters also volunteered to help fight the forest fire.
