King Charles issues statement following shock death of royal family member

King Charles has expressed his condolences following the unexpected death of Thomas Kingston, husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston, daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.

A statement issued by the Kingston family described Thomas as “an exceptional man who brightened the lives of all who knew him” and asked for privacy during his bereavement.
The King and Queen also offered their deepest condolences to Lady Gabriella and Mr. Kingston’s family, acknowledging that Thomas was a much-loved member. Although Thomas’s death at the age of 45 in Gloucestershire has not been considered suspicious, an inquest will determine the cause of death.
Thomas, born on June 22, 1978, was a graduate of Bristol University and worked in finance. He married Lady Gabriella on May 18, 2019, in a ceremony at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, attended by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Despite Lady Gabriella’s non-royal duties, Thomas has accompanied her to events such as Trooping the Colour in June 2019. Lady Gabriella is known for her work as a freelance writer.Lady Gabriella, only daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, was born on April 23, 1981 and is currently 56th in the order of succession to the throne.
