Sooner or later everyone loses someone close to them: it’s an unfortunate part of life.
However, the death of certain loved ones can affect us more than we imagine. Have you ever, for example, seen someone appear in your dreams who is no longer alive?

Others try to avoid the subject or behave outwardly without reacting. But there is one behavior that many people have in common: dreaming about loved ones who have left us. When it comes to dreaming at night, it’s our subconscious that rules, and if you’ve ever dreamed about someone who has died, it may have meaning.
So can dreams convey messages from deceased loved ones?
According to Patrick McNamara, associate professor of Neurology and Psychiatry at Boston College, there is a special term for dreams about deceased people: visitation dreams.
In 2014, the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Care published a study on the impact of bereavement dreams. The study concluded that “dreams about people who have died are frequent, can be very meaningful, and promote healing from loss.”
Dream themes include “past memories or experiences, the deceased is not ill.”
