The mother of rare twins with Down syndrome silences critics with a photo showing how beautiful they are

The mother of rare twins with Down syndrome silences critics with a photo showing how beautiful they are Twin pregnancies remain quite rare, despite a 72% increase in probability between 1980 and 2018. Around 33 births out of every 1,000 give birth to twins. What are the odds of having identical twins? In 1,000 births, on average three to four are identical twins. Again, it’s not very common. Savannah Combs, 23, was thrilled to find out she was expecting twins. She then discovered that both had Down syndrome, which is also unusual. Of course, the news affected her. Savannah and her husband, Justin Ackerman, knew that, because of their condition and that of their children, some people would judge them.

But Savannah believes that is precisely what makes them so beautiful. “What they have is very rare, but they have been my little treasures,” she mentioned. Savannah, originally from Middleburg, Florida, posted videos of her postpartum experience on TikTok with her children Kennadi Rue and Mckenli Ackerman, and the videos were an immediate hit.

Savannah said in one of her videos that she had been advised to abort her children because they wouldn’t survive.

She chose to keep them and give them a chance.
