At the zoo, a mother showed her baby to a gorilla and was surprised by her reaction. Gorillas, not known to everyone, are excellent parents. They collectively care for their young and only leave them in exceptional circumstances.
They also show considerable affection towards the offspring of others, not just primates. Emmelina Austin, a resident of the American state of Maine, visiting the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston, was able to witness how well these great primates handle their parental duties. The girl was observing the monkeys while taking care of her son Canyon. 
She brought the baby closer to the glass to get a better look at the gorillas. However, Canyon wasn’t very interested; he quickly fell asleep in his mother’s arms. Then something incredible happened. The gorilla became interested in the baby; she approached the glass and started examining the infant. Then she began to move her hand along the glass, as if stroking the “human infant” on the head. It turned out that the gorilla’s name was Kiki. She had recently given birth to her own baby, named Pablo. 
The tender encounter was captured on video: “When I entered the zoo that day, I never thought I would experience such a thing.” This remarkable interaction between two mothers and a child became popular on YouTube. It now has nearly three million views.
