They called him an idiot: He grew up being loved by millions

Henry Winkler’s name is somewhat associated with the character of Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli on the hit series Happy Days. Fonzie quickly became the icon and embodiment of cool in the 1970s.Winkler was born on October 30, 1945 in New York City. Speaking of his career as an actor and later as a producer, director and screenwriter, Winkler said he had always known that acting was his calling. “I knew I wanted to act from the time I was old enough to reason,” he told NPR in 2019. Growing up, she struggled with school and academics, which led to a strained relationship with her parents. At the time, Winkler suffered from dyslexia, but it wasn’t diagnosed until later. His parents were unaware of it and referred to him as “dumb,” going so far as to call him “Dummo Hund,” meaning “dumb dog.”To support his wife, Winkler has collaborated with several organizations that help raise breast cancer awareness.
What we love most about Winkler is that he is never afraid to publicly express his love for his wife of many years. When James Corden surprised them with a wedding photo on his show, Winkler said Stacey looked as beautiful as the first day he saw her.
