When Bentley Boyers’ father went to the shelter to add two hens, he found a puppy with the same birth defect as his son and knew he had to take him home.
Mr. Boyers went to the shelter to add two hens and found an adorable black and white ball of fur. The puppy impressed him because it had been born with a cleft palate, just like his two-year-old son.
Mr. Boyers immediately contacted his wife via Facetime and she instantly knew that adorable puppy was destined to become part of their family.
Mom and Bentley went to the shelter to meet the puppy. Bentley and the puppy hit it off right away — they were built to last!
Little Bentley was born with a cleft lip. His mother says that the 2-year-old had a difficult start in life and that it was hard to get him to eat. To help him, they had to squeeze his lips.
«Bentley is a happy little boy despite his initial difficulties, but his parents want to show him that he is not alone: there are other people and animals who look like him.
«Seeing him have something in common with a puppy means a lot for him to grow up and understand that he and his puppy have something in common,» says Bentley’s mother.
