It’s really amazing how cruel some people can be to dogs. An adorable dog named Riona suffered like everyone else after her owner brutally set her on fire last year.
But almost exactly one year after the horrible incident, Riona is finally going to her new home.
Last June, residents of Nutbush, Tennessee, witnessed a shocking event: Riona, a pit bull, ran into the street engulfed in flames. The smell of gas made it clear that she had been intentionally set on fire.
«It just smelled like gas,» Mallory Mclemore of Bluff City Veterinary Specialists told the Memphis Commercial Appeal.
Witness statements confirmed that he was set on fire,» Ginger Natoli, founder of Tails of Hope Dog Rescue, told Newsweek. 
As a reminder that the work of animal rescuers never ends, Tails of Hope said that right after Riona went to her new home, they took in another dog who had suffered burns. «There is always another dog in need,» they wrote. Today we get to be part of another story.
