A grateful kangaroo shakes hands with three men who rescued it from an icy lake

We always love to see people helping animals. It’s a really thankless job: animals don’t usually show much gratitude for a good deed.
But sometimes animals have a very sweet way of saying “thank you” to their rescuers, like this kangaroo who offered a handshake to the men who saved him.According to Daily Mail Australia, a man named David Boyd spotted a kangaroo in Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra. Apparently, the water was frozen and the animal couldn’t get out.
But two brave passers-by braved the icy waters to help the kangaroo to safety. The men approached cautiously so as not to frighten the kangaroo. As they approached and tried to grab the kangaroo by the arms to bring it to safety, the kangaroo began to flap its arms.
But, undeterred, the men grab it and pull it out of the water.A third man helps the kangaroo to dry land and keeps the frightened, trembling animal calm.
Although they appear tame, kangaroos can be dangerous if they feel threatened. Their defenses include a powerful, boxer-like punch, sharp claws and a kick that, according to experts, can disembowel a man.
