In April 2023, Hallie Kyed was just two years old when she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. That was nine months ago. Hallie Kyed, who was 2 years old, died on January 21. Her father, Doug Kyed, who works as an NFL writer for the Boston Herald, spoke about it on Instagram.
Doug Kyed explains that things went wrong for his daughter when she fell ill again after receiving a bone marrow donation. The treatment she was receiving stopped working.
As the reporter explains, they “knew the prognosis was poor when she relapsed after her bone marrow transplant, so the whole family spent time in the hospital last week, but we held out hope for remission because of the courage, strength and resilience Hallie showed throughout her nine-month battle.
But despite Hallie’s strength and resilience in the face of such tragedy, “post-transplant chemotherapy was ineffective, and her aggressive form of leukemia had spiraled out of control by the time she began trial treatment.”
“I will miss rubbing her hair, kissing her and telling her that she is the one I love the most. Hallie forever.”
On January 26, Hallie will be laid to rest. At this very difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with the Kyed family.
