The School of Veterinary Medicine at University of California Davis held the 2022 Doxie Derby, which was spectacular to watch. The amateur dog race is all about enjoying yourself, and most dogs, especially the older ones, did just that. One of them was Dachshund Sophie, age 14.
Although the sausage gave it her all to get those tiny legs moving, she ultimately fell short. The race was captured by Alex Cohen, who then shared it on Twitter for everyone to see. When Sophie eventually crosses the finish line, the audience erupts in jubilation. She made up for her lack of speed with tenacity and love!
