The man saw an owl that got stuck in the barbed wire. The stretched net caught the bird by surprise. Its fluffy wings firmly “clung” to the wire.
Tenacious fencing makes many careless animals suffer. In some countries, it has even been banned. It’s good that a resident noticed the horned owl – and did not pass by. He carefully began to untangle the feathers, repeating at the same time: “It’s okay, buddy.” The owl hanging upside down did not show aggression, although they are usually afraid of people. It was as if it knew that it was being helped.
After being released, the man put the owl on the grass and hoped that it would be able to fly away, but it probably hung on the wire for too long. Then the man took it to the veterinary center, where the owl was helped to recover and released into the wild a couple of days later.
