After a 55-year-old resident of Lombardy, Marco Mayolani fell ill with a coronavirus and was hospitalized, the life of a dog named Billy became “Groundhog’s Day”.
For two months the dog has been sitting at the door waiting for the owner.
Marco’s concerned grandchildren constantly persuade the dog to go inside, but he agrees to do it only in the evening.
Early in the morning, he is already on the doorstep, waiting for the door to be opened, so that he can go out on the porch, taking his favorite blanket, and again look for his owner all day long.
After testing positive for COVID-19, Marco first tried to be treated at home.
But his health deteriorated and he was taken to the ICU.
The man fought for his life for two months and only recently recovered.
Doctors at St Mark’s Hospital in Pavia believe that very soon he will be able to return home and hug his faithful fluffy friend.
The family tells Marco that Billy is waiting for him at home every day.
These stories warm a man’s soul and help him regain strength more quickly.
“I miss him so much,” says the Italian. “There are no more like him. I’ll be back soon and I’ll be with Billy again”.
Occasionally, the dog gets despondent, and Billy starts screaming loudly and calling for the owner.
Marco’s relatives comfort the pet, telling him that his friend is already on the mend.
And he seems to understand everything and believes that they will meet soon.
