A dog named Murray has had health problems since birth. He was born with a deformed skull, which makes his muzzle look unusual, and his nose was too large.
As if such a flaw was not enough, fate threw him new difficulties – distemper, which the dog fell ill with in infancy.
This disease disrupts the nervous system and respiratory organs, most puppies infected with this disease die.
Murray and two other babies born with him were found in Puerto Rico on a remote beach. The locals bring their dogs here when they decide to deprive them of shelter and care. This is a place of fame where dogs go to die.
Both puppies from the same litter as Murray died of distemper, and people discovered him when he was very close to death. The puppy was very weak, so the veterinarian decided that the most reasonable solution would be to euthanize him.
When the puppy was lying on the table and a syringe with a cure was drawn, the baby wagged the tail and melted the doctor’s heart, which was the path to salvation.
As Murray grew older, other health problems began to be identified: the distemper left him without teeth, so he could not close his jaw and keep his tongue in his mouth.
The dog had little chance of finding a new family with such defects, but his luck was on his side. The dog with the weird facial expression was spotted by Mackenzie Gallant in the U.S. The girl thought his defects made him special.
The animal was transported to Massachusetts by a zoo organization. Today, Murray lives in a new house, with a loving family and his own social networking page.
Mackenzie believes that her pet’s life story shows how important it is to give a chance to dogs who end up in an orphanage because of their flaws. To the care of people, such pets respond with unlimited love and loyalty. The girl is astonished how, after so many trials, Murray was able to find new sources of joy for himself, since the dog is almost never in a bad mood.
