The dog was a cross between a pit bull and a mongrel and lived in the family for a long time, guarding the yard and pleasing the owners. Everything changed when it got pregnant. The owner did not want to take care of the animal and acted extremely cruelly – brought the animal into the forest and left it there, tied to a tree trunk. He didn’t bring any water or food for the animal.
For many days, the dog ate by gnawing bark from trees and drank only the water that gathered on the grass in the morning as dew. The dog was constantly whining and it was heard in the village, but no one even thought to go and save it.
When the time came, the dog, itself on the verge of exhaustion, gave birth to puppies. Having neither food nor water, it could still feed its four babies with milk.
When the crumbs turned 10 days old, the dog practically did not get up on its paws, and the puppies really lacked the milk that it could give, at that moment one of the locals found out about it and immediately informed the animal rights activists.
When the family was found in the woods, all the animals were immediately taken to the vet and then placed in an orphanage. One of the babies was so weak that he couldn’t survive the trip.
At the shelter, the dog was named Lara and transferred to enhanced nutrition. The milk recovered quickly and Lara was able to feed the puppies. With the addition of food, the kids quickly began to grow and develop. The puppies turned out to be affectionate and playful, they already eat on their own, and volunteers began to look for families for them.
Lara was also able to fully recover and is already eagerly awaited in its new home.
