Sometimes people do terrible things to get rid of animals that, for various reasons, have become unnecessary for them.
Once a volunteer Sasha called me, who has 60 of our animals, and said: 《If you are standing, sit down.》 After these words, I did not expect any good news. Here’s what happened.
Sasha went out into the yard to feed the dogs, and then he saw that under the fence someone was stretching out small white paws, trying to get a dried bone. Opening the gate, the man froze in a daze.
A big, beautiful dog was tied to a bush near the house, similar to Collie and Malamute at the same time, a piece of paper was sticking out of its collar. And next to the dog were two slender snow-white puppies of about 2 months, who looked at Alexander with curiosity.
It was not difficult to guess that the dog family was brought to this wilderness on purpose, they knew perfectly well who lived in this house. Sasha scratched the good-natured mother-dog behind the ear, and she leaned against his legs, making it clear that she no longer had any strength to sit in the sun. At that moment, the piece of paper fell out of the collar and the man finally realized that it was a note.
And the text was like this: “In connection with the move, I am handing over dogs to a shelter! DON’T blame me”
That is, you could not take the animal with you, find a new home and ask for help, you just had to give it up and it doesn’t matter if we take them or not? Will Sasha have time to see them, or the first will be a neighbor who does not like dogs, who filed a lawsuit against Sasha precisely because of the large number of animals. And we don’t have a shelter, a man keeps them at home. More precisely, in the yard.
They were simply left to fend for themselves, the whole family was left. But once this dog with sad eyes believed these people, who, not only did not protect her from an unplanned pregnancy but also cruelly betrayed, breaking three fates at once.
Not knowing how to act otherwise, the man greets Sophia into the yard (as he named the dog), and two puppies, who were no more than two months old, ran into the yard after their mother.
All our enclosures were already packed to capacity, but there was no choice, we can’t leave a poor mother with her puppies in the middle of a village located in an open field. We had to put them in a cramped enclosure with the puppies that we had sheltered earlier.
Sofia turned out to be an intelligent and trained dog. She was about 2 years old. From the first minutes, she was happy to demonstrate to Sasha everything that she can. She stretches her paw herself, blinks, smiles … sort of says: 《Look how good I am, don’t drive us away》.
Despite the cramped conditions of detention, the mother of the puppies was glad that they were given at least someplace and unquestioningly obeyed her savior, and her kids from the very first day had fun playing with other kids and ate a modest dinner offered by Sasha.
After all, just then our freezer broke down and almost all the food intended for poor animals was spoiled in the heat.
And at night Sofia hugged her children and fell asleep sweetly, trusting in fate.
The kids turned out to be as good as their mother. Good-natured, clever, inquisitive. Indescribable beauty!
The very next day, one of the little snow whites was taken to her by Sasha’s neighbor. She fell in love with the baby at first sight.
And Sofia, along with her affectionate baby Umka, are still with Sasha and dream that someday they too will have a house where they will truly be loved, from where they will never be kicked out because of the “move” or by what – for some other reason. Betrayal is betrayal, no matter what arguments someone brings.
