People usually come to the Bakhchisarai Historical and Cultural Miniature Park to see the exhibition « Crimea in miniature on the palm of your hand », where the sights of the Crimea are presented on a scale of 1: 25. Visitors admire the local beauty and then go to a small zoo. There are 7 piglets, goats, chickens, peacocks, and many other animals living there.
And it was here that a very unusual and kind story happened. When the planned felling of old trees was carried out in the spring, one of them turned out to be a hollow, and not empty, but with small squirrels. Where their mother went was not known, but one thing was clear – it abandoned them. Not indifferent visitors brought the kids to the zoo.
The workers were at a loss what to do with these hungry and squeaking lumps. One of the employees had the idea to show them to a cat that recently gave birth, or maybe she will accept them. Well, Murka, all hope is only on you!
And the cat did not refuse, only at first, it looked surprised: some strange « kittens »! But soon it began to lick them. The employees were delighted with this turn of events: that’s how well everything turned out!
Squirrels grow quickly, they play with kittens. This story thundered all over the city. Murka instantly became a celebrity. Crowds of visitors came to the park. The new star outshone all the other whiskered-tailed inhabitants of the park. A queue was formed to look at Murka’s kittens. There is no need to worry about their fate.
The cat didn’t have enough milk for everyone, the employees have to feed the squirrels from a bottle day and night. The director of the Bakhchisarai Miniature Park, Viktor Zhilenko, says that the squirrels will not be left unattended in any case, they will be fed and cared for. Then they will most likely stay in the park.
